I have now been using Nutrisystem for one month! It seems like I just started and I am still learning so much about myself & the way I eat. This past week, I honestly haven’t been writing down my food, I’ve been eating out A LOT more than I did in the previous 3 weeks, I haven’t been drinking enough water & it showed. While my weight stayed exactly the same, I am proud to say that when we did go out to eat, I made MUCH better choices than I would have before starting Nutrisystem.
Starting Weight: 241.8
Week 1 Weight: 236.3 Loss: 5.5
Week 2 Weight: 234.4 Loss: 1.9
Week 3 Weight 232.8 Loss: 1.6
Week 4 Weight 232.8 Loss: 0
Total Loss: 9 lb
Tomorrow is my 36th birthday (I’d like to fast forward past tomorrow, thank you very much!) and I really don’t want to live another year overweight, unhappy and depressed. I am giving myself a goal this week. I need to get down to basics with my eating, start writing things down again & drink all my water! Also, I need to find some exercise (or more than 1) that I actually enjoy. About 2 years ago, I was starting to enjoy jogging. Now I need to find something to keep me motivated and get back into better shape!

Happy Birthday.
You can back to it. I have struggled for so long and couldn’t stand looking at myself in the mirror. It was always next summer I will fit in these shorts or fit in my jeans in the winter. It has almost been 4 years since I have worn jeans because I refused to buy a bigger size. I have lived in hanes sweats. This year is it for me. I lost a couple before the holidays and kept it off. Then January 7 they started a weight watchers at work program and as of this past week I have lost 15lbs and feel great. I have tried it before and it just wasn’t the time. I will be 40 this year and I will feel so much better about myself.
I know I can’t get into a huge workout routine, so I have been doing the WII with my daughter. It is fun and you are moving. Just dance is great and I just got Zumba and did last night for the first time. It is a workout for a game.
Best of luck and you will figure it out. 9lbs is great. Slow and steady and it will be something to KEEP off.

Susan, I really appreciate your kind words 🙂 Losing weight is so incredibly hard because it’s not JUST about the food, there’s so much going on in our heads too. Congratulations on your 15 pound loss! That is awesome!

Happy birthday! Sounds like it’s time for a little exercise to get you over your plateau. I’ve never tried Nutrisystem (thinking about it), but when I did Weight Watchers that really helped me.
Tara says
Definitely need to exercise 🙂

Happy Birthday! I’d have such a hard time sticking to a diet, even one like Nutrisystem. Have you tried many other weight loss plans in the past? Do you drink sodas? I have heard that makes a big difference (not that exercise isn’t always a good thing anyhow!)… I’m just curious about how much you would need to do.
For an exercise, I highly recommend some Wii games, like Just Dance- OMG, I can play on that for HOURS and work up a sweat without feeling like I had a horrible work out. It gets me sore too, so I know it’s working!!
Tara says
I have tried other things but sticking to something is my biggest downfall. I do drink some soda but trying to cut out a lot (I am a soda junkie!). I’m gonna check out the wii game! I HATE dancing but in my house should be ok LOL

Happy Birthday!!! II was all my life very slim and suddenly I started to take 15-18 kg. I lost 10 kg but I need to lose 5 kg more:) It is hard tho and it needs a lot of ambition.

Happy Birthday! I think you are doing great on your weight loss journey. I know for me two of the big key factors is journaling my food and drinking my water. I just got myself into the habit of always having a glass of water next to me. even in the morning. I trade back and forth between my coffee and water. Good Luck!

Keep up the good work!

If you’re in need of a dessert substitute, try tea — there are a lot of fruit, cinnamon, and sweet flavors out there, plus even if you add a teaspoon of sugar, it’s only a fraction of calories compared to a cookie or a piece of cake. I used to love Almond Biscotti tea from Teavana, but it’s been discontinued — got a good recommendation for their Chocolate Oolong tea though!

Keep up the good work. I wonder if Nutrisystem has changed, my daughter and I tried it a while back and we did not like the food….OK, perhaps we are picky and were not ready to lose the weight!
