This past weekend, my kids got the chance to review a new movie called Tad: The Lost Explorer. I hadn’t heard about it before but they were really excited to watch it. The movie features the voice of Ariel Winter from Modern Family, Cheech Marin from Beverly Hills Chihuahua and features music from One Direction (cue girl screams here). This comedy stars Tad, who is a Chicago construction worker. But in his dreams, he is a celebrity archaeologist and adventurer just like his hero Max Mordon. Tad is mistaken for a real Professor & has to go to Peru to find the Lost City of Paititi. When Tad arrives, Professor Lavrof & his daughter Sara are waiting for Tad to help. Tad isn’t happy when he finds out that Sara is engaged to real-life hero Max Mordon but Max has betrayed the Professor by helping out the evil Kopponen and his shady Odysseus corporation. Tad to the rescue!
All three of my kids (ages 14, 10 & 5) said they liked it. It kept their attention, which is a good sign. When a movie can keep all three watching, not fighting and let my husband watch at least one “grown up” show (like the Dexter finale), it’s a WIN in my book! All three kids said it was really funny and they are already planning on watching it again today.
The one thing I want to make sure I point out is that my daughter let me know that the movie had the words “hell” and “crap” in it. For my older 2, those words don’t bother me. But I know that parents want to be informed when it comes to movies for their kids. I usually check out Kids In Mind to see why a movie is rated what it is, what it includes and to see if it’s appropriate for my kids. This time though, the movie wasn’t listed so I didn’t know about the words.
On reader will win their own copy of Tad: The Lost Explorer Blu-Ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD). Enter below on the Rafflecopter & good luck!
