They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day (although I’m not sure who “they” are). Do you agree? I know that on days when I skip breakfast, I am grumpy, my blood sugar drops and I feel dizzy until I eat something. Pretty much not a joy to be around. I really do try to make it a habit not to skip breakfast very often, although sometimes it is hard when you’re on the go, taking kids to school, running errands, going to doctor’s appointments, late for work…the list never ends. Having easy, on-the-go foods to eat & take with you is the best solution!
We’re all familiar with the Quaker® brand and know they are famous for their oatmeal but did you know that they have a new product that will get you moving out the door faster but still having you eating a wholesome breakfast? Quaker® Breakfast Shakes come in 3 tasty flavors – Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry. Each shake has 10g of Protein, 8g of Whole Grains, 6g of Fiber and 200 calories making it a great way to get you moving in the morning without having to make breakfast! Plus, it’s easy to grab one, hop in the car with your kids or on the way to work and still know that you are eating something healthy. These tasty shakes are available at Walmart & select grocery stores.
If you’re wanting to try it for yourself, you can head on over HERE and print out a $2 off coupon. Which flavor would you try first – Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry? You really can’t lose with any of those choices!

I stay prepared in advance. I always have a container of cheddar chunks, and generally have cold boiled eggs in the fridge as well. Every evening, I get some cheese together, fill my water bottles, and any fruit or a sliced egg that I might have on hand. I make sure it is all in one place in the fridge and have anything I might need for it (fork to spear the egg at stoplights, for example, and hand wipes) in my lunch box–I tend to keep a LaraBar in there too, for my sweet tooth. Then, when I’m running out the door to keep appointments or do shopping or whatever needs to be done, it’s all ready to go and can be snacked on in the car or parking lot. Of course, due to diabetes and Celiac disease, I have had years to get this down to a fine art! =D (Thanks to you and Quaker for the review and the giveaway!)

My tip for managing busy mornings on the go is to be as prepared beforehand as possible! I keep an organizer, try to maintain a strict schedule and get as much done the night before as I possibly can. This means, getting meals prepared and packed, clothes laid out and not hitting the snooze button on the alarm clock! 🙂
