About a year ago, I was a newer blog & was so incredibly excited when a company contacted me to do a great review & giveaway. PlayMG was a new company that had a product that hadn’t even hit the markets yet and not only did they want my family to have one, they wanted me to bring my kids to their office here in San Diego and meet them. Ever since, we have been big fans of PlayMG and I can honestly say that my kids use our PlayMG nearly every single day. You can read my 1st review HERE.
So, what is PlayMG? It’s a pocketable all-in-one entertainment system that’s made for young people who don’t have a smartphone. What’s great is there are no monthly charges and you don’t have to lug any extra games around with you. PlayMG lets you access all the games & apps that are found on the Google Play Android platform. So, no more trying to get your cell phone back from your kids because they want to continue playing games on your phone & you need to make a call.
Using WiFi access, you can access the Google Play store to download an endless amount of apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, books and much much more! Each device comes with 8MG to 40GB of memory (depending on which one you purchase) & more can be added, unlike other competitive brands out there.
Another feature that I like is you can opt-in to receive a weekly email that lets you know what apps your kids downloaded, how long your kids used the PlayMG and much more. You can also use the SpendSmart™ Prepaid MasterCard (it’s completely optional & to be honest, we’ve never used only. My kids have only downloaded free games & apps) which allows you to put a certain amount of money into the account & kids can download the games/apps they want without having to ask over & over again. I like that you can put money in from their allowance and then they can learn that once that money is spent, they aren’t allowed to spend any more money.
In the year since I first met with the wonderful people at PlayMG, they have teamed up with TV Star Olivia Holt & Basketball All-Star Kyrie Irving. Each week, they will be recommending a new app or game that they love. Olivia & Kyrie both own a PlayMG so they can see firsthand how great the games & apps are. PlayMG also has a recommendation engine that will make suggestions based on the type of games you play most.

I honestly can’t say enough great things about PlayMG. While they have given us a PlayMG a year ago & again for this review, that’s not why we love the PlayMG. We love it because it’s been great for our kids to be able to play the games they see their friends playing but since they won’t be getting a phone any time soon, this is the perfect solution. My almost 11 year old daughter uses hers pretty much every day. She has her favorite games, likes watching Netflix and using apps that allow her to draw because she’s artistic, unlike her Mom. I’ve even downloaded an app for her that allows her to text me on my smartphone, if she is her at home & on the WiFi and I am at the store or running an errand. (Don’t worry, she knows that we check her PlayMG nightly and she’s only allowed to text me, her dad & her brother). PlayMG is a company that cares about the people they are selling their products to & aren’t out there to just make money. I really appreciate that in a company!
