How often do you like going to your favorite coffeehouse to buy one of those yummy, yet pretty darn expensive, blended coffee drinks?  I decided I really wanted  to try to make something that was super yummy, would taste like something I would order at my favorite coffee shop but for a lot cheaper.

Now, to be completely honest, I don’t like coffee.  I do like some of the coffee drink but if all I taste is COFFEE then I will not like it.  My husband is a huge coffee lover so we balance each other out quite nicely (also, he doesn’t like sweets and I surely do! I mean, who doesn’t like sweets?  What’s wrong with him?!?!)  So, when deciding on what flavor I wanted for my drink, I know I needed something that tasted more like chocolate or something that had some sweetness to it.

I found Mocha International Delight Light Iced Coffee in the dairy section & knew that was the one I wanted to try.  Now I just had to figure out what to add to it.  I was genuinely surprised at how many flavors of International Delight coffee creamer there were in the next case over.!  My daughter & I both agreed that we couldn’t wait to try the Cold Stone Creamery Sweet Cream creamer.  We also made a stop to pick up some whipped cream and caramel sauce and we were good to go!  Find out more about my shopping experience HERE in my Google+ album!

This recipe is super easy to make and no one will be able to tell you didn’t spend $5+ at the coffee shop.  In fact, for an 8 oz. blended coffee drink, plus whipped cream, caramel sauce & chocolate sauce, it cost about $2 to make!  That’s a great savings!  Here’s how to make your own:

Mocha Sweet Cream Blended Light Coffee

Ice Cubes
6 oz. International Delight Light Iced Coffee, Mocha flavor
2 oz. International Delight Cold Stone Sweet Cream coffee creamer
Whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, optional

Add ice cubes to your blender (I like adding just a few, blending it & adding a few more until I get the consistency I like).  Add 6 oz. Mocha International Delight Light Iced Coffee & 2 oz. International Delight Cold Stone Sweet Cream coffee creamer. Blend well.  Pour into your favorite glass, add a swirl of whip cream and a little bit of chocolate & caramel drizzle and ENJOY!

I also checked the calories in the amazing drink.  For an 8 oz. Mocha Sweet Cream Blended Light Coffee with 2T whipped cream, 1 tsp of the butterscotch caramel sauce I used & 1 tsp chocolate syrup, this drink is only 270 calories!  (The biggest part of the calorie count is the creamer.  International Delight has several fat-free and/or sugar-free options if you are looking to lower the calorie count even more.)

  9. I’m not a coffee drinker. The only coffee I’ll drink are the Starbucks store bought lattes. Or, MC Donalds mocha frappe. It tastes like a milkshake.
