How often do you like going to your favorite coffeehouse to buy one of those yummy, yet pretty darn expensive, blended coffee drinks? I decided I really wanted to try to make something that was super yummy, would taste like something I would order at my favorite coffee shop but for a lot cheaper.
Now, to be completely honest, I don’t like coffee. I do like some of the coffee drink but if all I taste is COFFEE then I will not like it. My husband is a huge coffee lover so we balance each other out quite nicely (also, he doesn’t like sweets and I surely do! I mean, who doesn’t like sweets? What’s wrong with him?!?!) So, when deciding on what flavor I wanted for my drink, I know I needed something that tasted more like chocolate or something that had some sweetness to it.
I found Mocha International Delight Light Iced Coffee in the dairy section & knew that was the one I wanted to try. Now I just had to figure out what to add to it. I was genuinely surprised at how many flavors of International Delight coffee creamer there were in the next case over.! My daughter & I both agreed that we couldn’t wait to try the Cold Stone Creamery Sweet Cream creamer. We also made a stop to pick up some whipped cream and caramel sauce and we were good to go! This recipe is super easy to make and no one will be able to tell you didn’t spend $5+ at the coffee shop. In fact, for an 8 oz. blended coffee drink, plus whipped cream, caramel sauce & chocolate sauce, it cost about $2 to make! That’s a great savings! Here’s how to make your own:
Mocha Sweet Cream Blended Light Coffee
6 oz. International Delight Light Iced Coffee, Mocha flavor
2 oz. International Delight Cold Stone Sweet Cream coffee creamer
Whipped cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, optional
Add ice cubes to your blender (I like adding just a few, blending it & adding a few more until I get the consistency I like). Add 6 oz. Mocha International Delight Light Iced Coffee & 2 oz. International Delight Cold Stone Sweet Cream coffee creamer. Blend well. Pour into your favorite glass, add a swirl of whip cream and a little bit of chocolate & caramel drizzle and ENJOY!
I also checked the calories in the amazing drink. For an 8 oz. Mocha Sweet Cream Blended Light Coffee with 2T whipped cream, 1 tsp of the butterscotch caramel sauce I used & 1 tsp chocolate syrup, this drink is only 270 calories! (The biggest part of the calorie count is the creamer. International Delight has several fat-free and/or sugar-free options if you are looking to lower the calorie count even more.)
If you head on over & check out International Delight on Facebook, you’ll find recipes, flavors, coupons & more. You can also register with International Delight too to receive news, flavor updates, deals, coupons & more!
