If your kids are anything like mine, they love playing with toys that they can put together & take apart. My youngest son is 6 and loves toys that combine science and fun. Science toys are a great way to teach kids about engineering, which is great because my son definitely has a mind like an engineer, just like his Dad.
Eitech has some fantastic steel constructions sets that boys AND girls will love playing with. Girls want to build and learn about science & engineering, just as much as boys do. My daughter is 11 and recently went to a day at a local college that was geared towards girls & science. Women from different fields of math & science came to talk to the girls and put on demonstrations to show girls that they can excel in these subjects. First Lady Michelle Obama has said, “If we’re going to out-innovate and out-educate the rest of the world, we’ve got to open doors for everyone. We need all hands on deck, and that means clearing hurdles for women and girls as they navigate careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.” How true that is!
These sets allow kids to use their fine motor skills to snap & screw together interchangeable parts. Each set comes with a full-color illustrated set of instructions, which allows the kids to build by themselves but also keeps it fun when an adult or older sibling wants to help and build, too. The “Basic” steel sets are ideal for kids 6 & up, while the “Classic” sets allow kids 8 & up to play with gears, remote controls & motors.
We got to choose two kits to try out: the Eitech Robot Construction Set & the Eitech Trail Bike Construction Set. The Robot set is recommended for kids 8+ (my husband helped our 6 year old) and sells for $39.99. This set comes with 120 parts that allows kids to build 2 robot models. A flashing LED light adds even more robotic touches to the set. The Trail Bike set is also for ages 8+ and sells for $14.99. This set comes with 60 pieces.
When we first got the kits, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find all the tools needed in the garage. BUT, I learned that all the tools that are needed to build these kits are included in the box! I really love that because there’s no digging for tools out in the garage or having my husband come look for his tools when we forgot to put them back.
While my son did need help from my husband to put these kits together (he is only 6), he really loved the colorful instructions and how much much fun it was to use tools like Daddy. I love that he’s not only having fun but it learning more and more about engineering and science, as well.
Eitech has many different kits to choose from. Check them out: Eiffel Tower, Robot, Trail Bike, Train & Space Shuttle. Not only can you find Eitech at www.eitechtoys.com, you can all find their kits on Amazon{affiliate} and in stores like Toys R Us. You can find out more about Eitech on Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest. One lucky winner will win their choice of the Eiffel Tower, Robot, Trail Bike or Train set! Enter below on the Rafflecopter, open to US 18+. Good luck!
