While it seems like school just got out for summer, the truth is it’s already Back to School time for many people. While Back to School shopping can be fun (new clothes, new shoes, new backpacks, new school supplies, etc.), it can also be stressful and very expensive for us parents.
LiteGear is a great choice for lightweight, durable bags and backpacks. Three popular styles are the City Pack, City Tote, and Treo Pack. The City Pack & Tote are both extremely lightweight (weighing less than 1/2 lb each) and are made from 100% polyester microfiber. Each of these bags has 3 zipper compartments (traditional back section, middle section and a smaller front section, perfect for your wallet or cell phone). There’s even room for a water bottle on the side. The City Pack measures 10″ x 14″ x 7″ and has traditional backpack straps. The City Tote measures 14″ x 11″ x 5.75″ with a cross-shoulder style strap. Both are $24.95 and come in Black, Slate Gray, and Mallard Green.
The Treo Pack is sturdier and bigger (measuring 12″ x 16″ x 7.5″) and is made of 100% polyester. This bag is perfect for a high school or college student since the Treo Pack has lots of pockets and room for books, pens, pencils and laptops, since the back pouch is padded for extra protection. The zipper section is expandable, for days when the student needs to carry more, plus the Treo bag comes with a shoulder strap to take the bag from a traditional backpack to a cross-body bag. The Treo bag comes in black and is $59.95.
I chose the City Pack
in Mallard Green for my 11 year old daughter. While she is homeschooled and doesn’t need a backpack for school, she loves them for every day use. Last week when she was heading to a friend’s house for an afternoon of swimming and hanging out, she took her City Pack and packed inside a large beach towel, a change of clothes for after swimming, the family cell phone and a few other small things. She also took this bag with her on the bus to camp a couple weeks ago. Inside, she packed a few sketch books, books to read, colored pencils and a few magazines to keep her and her friends occupied on the 2 hour trip to camp. It worked out perfectly and the bag was comfortable enough for her to carry around at camp too, when she wanted to take some things with her but not have to carry them in her hands.
The material that the City Pack is made out of is incredibly soft and the Mallard Green color my daughter chose is incredibly beautiful. It’s comfortable for her to wear and carry whatever she needs for the day. My daughter is incredibly happy with her LiteGear City Pack and since it’s so durable and lightweight, she’ll be using it for a very long time!
