Christmas is such a fun and magical time of year. I love being able to decorate and make fun things but because there is always so much going on, I really love easy DIY & craft projects. I came up with this “Santa’s Milk Bottle” that you can make very quickly and even have your kids help!
Here’s what supplies you’ll need:
- Glass Starbucks Frappucino Bottle (you could also use a mason jar)
- Red Spray Paint
- Black & Yellow Felt
- Red & White Striped Paper Straws (I won mine in a giveaway basket on Inheriting Our Planet)
- Little tiny Santa Hats (I got mine at Dollar Tree! They are little hair clips, 3 for $1. But if you didn’t have those little hats, you could make one out of construction paper or craft foam {affiliate link})
- Scissors
- Handy Dandy Glue Gun
I have been holding onto two frappucino bottles for quite awhile now. My husband kept asking if he could get rid of them and I kept telling him no. I knew I would use them someday! And that day has come! To get the labels off of the bottles, I boiled some water and let the bottles sit in there for a couple minutes. The labels peeled off really easily but left behind all the adhesive. My husband suggested that I use some of his Goof Off {affiliate link} and it took it right off. The next thing I did was spray painted the outside of the bottles with bright red spray paint & left them to dry overnight.
The next morning, when the bottles were all dry, I pulled out my supplies and got to work. I love that this only needed a few supplies & was super easy to make!
I cut a corner square from the yellow felt and and a thin black strip from the black felt. Folding the yellow square in half, I cut 2 small slits so that the belt could slip through the buckle.
Using my ever handy glue gun, I glued the belt (which I had already passed through the buckle) onto the bottle. Add a red & white stripe paper straw and clip on a little Santa hat (or you could glue on a construction paper/craft foam hat to the straw) and you are ready to serve Santa his milk and cookies on Christmas!
