We’re a homeschooling family and that means that since the kids are at home so much, we have to have a lot of fruits and snacks in the house for them to eat throughout the day. There are so many things out there that we can buy (and sometimes we do) but I don’t want them to always be snacking on unhealthy items so we try to buy things that they like but that aren’t bad for them either. That’s why I love whipping up this Chocolate Peanut Snack Mix!
Years ago, when I used to think about recipes that used the word “organic”, I used to think that the recipe was going to be boring and bland. It couldn’t be delicious AND help you live & eat better, right? Then, I started seeing more and more organic food and recipes. One company that I always noticed in grocery stores was Annie’s Homegrown. Annie’s had versions of things that we already bought (boxed macaroni and cheese, fruit snacks, yogurt tubes and more) but when I read about what the ingredients were, I felt better about feeding them to the kids. Now I know that eating organic doesn’t have to be just for people that have a lot of money or people that are health nuts. We can eat that way too! With Annie’s Homegrown, eating organic is for everybunny (Check out this adorable Annie’s Homegrown ‘Organic for Everybunny’ video!)
To make this Chocolate Peanut Snack Mix, simply mix 2 cups of Annie’s Organic Cocoa Bunnies Cereal, 1 cup of lightly salted roasted peanuts and 1 cup of milk chocolate chocolate chips. After I make it, I either add the mix to a plastic storage container so the kids can help themselves or package it in little baggies to take with us when we’re on the go!
Annie’s helps us to eat better and live more responsibly, without sacrificing taste because food should be fun! Make sure to head to your nearest grocery store to check out some of Annie’s great organic products, like Annie’s Organic Shells & White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, Annie’s Organic Summer Strawberry Whole Milk Yogurt Tubes, Annie’s Organic Cheddar Bunnies, Annie’s Organic Cinnamon Rolls and other amazing products!
