Creating an amazing YELLOW bedroom with The Land of Nod #PMedia #NODinCA

I’m not exactly known for being able to decorate my home very well. I may or may not have been texting and sending Facebook messages to my friends (Barbara from Chase The Star & Dinah from DIY Inspired) the last few days because I am currently painting my living room/dining room/hallway for the first time in my life. (It sure does pay to have amazing crafty/DIY people in your life!) What I really need is a place I can go to, that makes it easy to pull a room together and helps me feel like *I* am the greatest DIY SuperHero in the world.  Ok, that’s a bit of a stretch but a nice, well organized, fun room isn’t too much to ask for right?

The hardest kid to decorate for is my 5 year old son, Ryan.  He LOVES yellow.  Now, I’ve looked and there really isn’t a ton of nice looking yellow things out there for a boys room. Anything that is yellow is usually included in some sort of cartoon character or just isn’t nice to look at.  I started looking at The Land of Nod site and was so pleasantly surprised at the amount of beautiful things in yellow! Being able to find yellow bedding that is also beautiful is such a huge plus for me! I also love that the pieces grow with the child. You can use the same pieces from the time the child is born and they can still use it well into their adult lives. You know what I learned on The Land of Nod site? They believe that kids’ products should be able to stand up to the wear & tear brought on by kids and all of their products have an 18 year guarantee!

circulation-chestSpeaking of, how fantastic is this Circulation Chest? The geek inside of me just squealed! Here is how I envision the perfect yellow (but sophisticated yellow!) bedroom for Ryan:

ReadingAreaEvery child (and adult!) needs plenty of storage for their books (like this Open Book Bin and the Good Read Book Caddy), a comfy place to sit (Little Slipper Chair in gray & white chevron) and a friend to read to (like Johan the Raccoon)

ToysStorageToys & Storage are important too! Flea Market Wire Ball Bins (in yellow & gray, of course!), Stripes Around the Cubes Bins, It’s In the Hole Golf Set & a new friend, Charlie

Now, I’ve never been inside The Land of Nod stores but I do know that they are coming to South Coast Plaza this month (Orange County for anyone not from Southern CA). It’s so exciting that The Land of Nod is having a huge Grand Opening on May 31st, 2013 at the South Coast Plaza! There will be giveaways happening throughout opening day and free goodies for those who arrive early to shop!
