It’s hard to believe that it’s already time to start thinking about going back to school. I remember when I was a kid, we didn’t start until after Labor Day but now it seems like our kids start earlier & earlier every year! Have you started your back to school shopping yet? I have to admit, it’s not my favorite thing to do but I do find it a lot more enjoyable when I can do it from home, like I did with Kohl’s!
The first purchase we wanted to make was for brand new backpacks. In previous years, we’ve gotten cheaper backpacks that haven’t held up for very long. There’s nothing more annoying than having to buy a NEW backpack in the middle of the school year because the one your kid’s were using broke. Jansport is the brand we love and even though they are a little bit more expensive than other brands, they last so much longer & you get your money’s worth (and then some!)
My 14-year-old daughter will be going to a charter school that has the students bring a laptop back & forth each day. It was important to get her a backpack that was sturdy, would protect the laptop and was comfy on her back. My 9-year-old is going to the same charter school and starting 4th grade. Since he’s now considered a “big kid” he needed a big kid backpack. I loved that I could find so many different backpacks to choose from and found them both at Kohl’s.
Back to school here is tricky because we live in the desert and it’s HOT well into October, sometimes November. My 4th grader requested lots of shorts, T-shirts & tank tops so that’s what we were able to find him for great price at Kohl’s. My 10th grader likes expressing her individuality and loves the graphic tees (usually from the young men’s section because that’s where are all the cool comic book characters seem to be).
One of my favorite things about shopping at Kohl’s is getting Kohl’s Cash to spend on my next shopping trip. On this shopping trip, I picked up the two Jansport backpacks, 12 tops/shirts and one pair of shorts, all for $204. Next time I shop at Kohl’s, I get to use my $30 Kohl’s Cash. That’s a HUGE bonus for me!
